The answers people need most often

Start here if you are deciding how the free credits, plans, rollover, and top-up rules work in practice.
Every new account starts with 6 free credits. You can use them before subscribing, then move to a paid plan once they are gone.
The free credits can be used on flat-lay, reshoot, and mannequin try-ons, which are the three current Studio image workflows.
Yes. The pricing UI explicitly says unused plan credits roll over, so you keep them available for future billing cycles instead of losing them at renewal.
If you are on a paid subscription and run out during the billing period, you can top-up credits or upgrade your plan. If you do not have an active paid plan, the product steers you to upgrade first.
In Credits you can enable auto-topup, set a trigger threshold, choose which active credit package should be bought automatically, and save a payment method. Once configured, credits can be purchased automatically when your balance drops below the threshold.
When a generation fails because of a technical issue, credits are automatically refunded back to your account so you can retry without losing balance.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Upgrade prorations are billed immediately, and any extra upgrade credits are added only after Stripe confirms payment. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
Team workspaces are available through the owner’s active Runway subscription. When you switch into a team workspace, the visible balance is the owner’s shared credit pool, and generations spend from that pool while usage is attributed to the member who created them.

A few reminders before you spend more

The strongest pattern is still learn first, then scale. Use the help page to keep your credit decisions as intentional as your creative ones.

Test on clean inputs first

A single sharp garment image and a relevant model give you a far better baseline than a rushed bulk upload.

Let the 6 free credits teach you

Compare flat-lay, reshoot, and mannequin results before you decide what a paid plan should cover for you every cycle.

Use plans and top-ups deliberately

Subscribe for your normal volume, trust rollover for quieter periods, and top-up or upgrade only when demand genuinely changes.
